I got up and left at 5:30 this morning – ugh!
The executive committee of the central conference ECC meets today on the southside of Chicago. It will be a long day and I have some energy drinks to keep me going to get home safe. Kathy is scrapbooking in Green Bay this weekend at a [...]

October 18, 2008Servant Leaders
October 14, 2008Last night we had a very productive Consistory meeting at church. I left the meeting with a great peace and confidence in the people serving our church. There is a wonderful sense of unity among us. Egos and personal agendas are subservient to what is best for God’s work. Thoughtfulness and prayerfulness surrounds the group [...]
At Red Robin
October 11, 2008Following Ted and Kim’s advice we ate good Burgers at Red Robin. Then we went to watch “Fireproof” the movie in a sold out theater. Had to sit in the second row. Nice evening with Karin and Trevor.
The Cities
October 9, 2008We made it to our motel in the Twin Cities today with the help of our GPS unit. Very smooth. Highway 29 is so boring I dozed a bit at the wheel causing the car to veer off road waking me up and Kathy yelling! First time that happened and it was not pleasant. I [...]
Door Still Open

Weather Report

Gray skies befitted the mood of the novel. Must turn to something with more sunshine. Will start reading, “Play Ball” by Garagiola. Kathy is scrapbooking away the dreariness.

Can anyone guess where we will be? If you can, tell how you played like Sherlock…
Ole’s Ten Commandments
October 5, 2008Over the years I have seen redneck, cowboy, hip-hop, and Latino renditions of the Decalogue. But here in the Upper Midwest where the Scandinavian dialect permeates the vernacular, the version that might be best understood is from Minnesota where I’ll be next week on vacation!
Ole’s Ten Commandments:
1. Der’s only vun God, don’t ya know.
2. Cussing [...]
