Blame it on the Narvesons

What are they to blame for?  Let me tell you a story.

The Narvesons used to live next door to us.  Avid gardeners, landscapers and Co.Fair prize winning bakers, they picked up stakes and moved to The Cities.  But they left behind a blessing by natural selection.

They had a marvelous patch of raspberries which went into Kim’s jams and jellies.  Heaven in a jar, baby!  But a few birds stole a few berries.  They flew over to our garage and then dropped their raspberry infused bird do-do on the west side of the garage.  Years have gone by and now we have the biggest crop of red raspberries ever!

Kathy makes pies and desserts and we freeze many for the making of a pie in winter.  Nothing better than a taste of summer in January!  I just picked  2 quarts after lunch today.  Kathy likes to do it but she is in the Cities.  She is spending some time with Karin after the Chippewa Bridal Shower.  So I had a raspberry Birdal Shower in memory of our good old neighbors, the Narvesons and their transplating birds.

Each time July and August come around we thank God for the fruit so berry tasty. The we blame it on the Narvesons.

Who do you blame for good fortune?

Here lies the blame for YOUR good fortune, the full story . . .

The birds congregated one morning, as God’s creatures do and said to one another, “Hey, that guy on the other side of the fence has been feeding us for years, putting up bird feeders and keeping them filled with delectable seed, all the while fighting off squirrels so we don’t go hungry. This is our opportunity to return his kindness. It is the right thing to do.” THAT, my friend, is why you have raspberries. :-)

Well, I had never known a person, besides Dr. Doolittle, who talked to the birds. I am reminded of the words of wisdom from a Swiss farmer who said to me, “Feed the birds and you will never be without a song.” Little did I know that feeding the birds would allow me the grace of free raspberries. Of such is the Kingdom of God (birds are included). Birds allows know the right thing to do-do. I am forever grateful for your feathered forensic information.

I am SO grateful to God for Zion. He led us through deep waters to find the rainbow before, during, and after the storm. I could be grateful to the circumstances which led us here, but I would rather give God the credit.

Yes, give the Almighty tour director the credit. So glad God led you to Zion’s cruise on the ocean of chaos and adventure. You help us “stay the course” with your love and energy.

I have been blamed for a lot of things, but this one is a first. So, I have sent you a package, that required blood, sweat, multiple Hornet stings and a trip to the Doctor’s office. I don’t know if I should part with it or not since the body toll was so great. But since you taught me how to commune with the sprits, I feel you are worthy.

    Keep watching your mail box!

Oh No! Doctor’s office, Body stings. What – has Kim kept you away from her jams and jellies? I await with great anticipation. And I miss teaching you how to commune with the spirits.
