We arrived home late last night in a small packed jet. It was raining when we landed. Left-overs from the hurricane. As we waited for our shuttle to take us to our car a woman told us her ordeal. She flew in from Cincinnati where wind gusts were up to 70 MPH. Some planes did not fly or were delayed due to the high winds. I guess the hurricane did have a larger than life impact.
Toronto is a huge North American metropolis. Very diverse and very Canadian. It is hard to believe that when you cross the border things change. Canadians are different in a different culture. I would never want to live in Toronto. Traffic is a headache. The wedding was 1/2 hour late because the the bride was stuck in traffic getting to the church!
Toronto is expensive. Just like New York. I sat next to a surgeon at the reception and asked him about health care. He said that the government allocates so much money per month to a hospital. When it is used up people have to wait until there are funds to pay for surgery. Need surgery in Canada? Hope it is at the beginning of the month!
I had my fill of Toronto, Canada for another decade or so. Canada is a fine place to catch fish. They send us funny actors and good singers, but I would not want to live there. It is nice to be home.
