Juno the Movie

Last Saturday Kathy and I went to see “Juno.”  After it was over I didn’t know if I should recommend this movie or what to think about it.  The basic plot line deals with a pregnant teenage girl named Juno.  Read this article, “Dad, I’m pregnant“ to get a very good review of the movie.

If I was a parent of any High School-er I would see this movie because I believe lots and lots of teenagers are going to see this movie.  I wanted to see it to reconnect with the issues of this age group.

The movie is pro-life and pro-adoption which is a very good thing.  The screen play is brilliant.  And Juno’s character is one quick, smart 16 year old girl.  Ellen Page deserves an Oscar for her performance.  There are no easy answers in this movie.  Life is messy and teenage pregnancy is a very difficult condition.  So is infertility which is an aspect to the film as well.  Surprises come jumping out at you during the story.  I wanted to give Juno a big hug so many times during the movie.

So if you have been adopted or want to adopt, go see this movie but be ready to laugh, frown and have your heart wrenched.
